It's been five years since it was published

but I just saw an excerpt on Facebook, and cried freely. I guess it's a day for tears.

Animals, and especially dogs, love so willingly, so deeply, and make such wonderful companions. I hope things have improved for Mr Vargus in those five years, and I hope he has found companionship again. But each dog is unique, and Foxy, I am sure, will live on in the hearts of those she touched for a long time.
