In the eight years I've lived in this apartment, I've used my oven something like seven or eight times--in effect, about once a year. I use it so rarely I'd forgotten how it indicates the pre-heating is ready. Today I had a frozen dinner that had to be used in a conventional oven that someone had gotten me right after I was hurt. Today was the first day I felt confident enough to handle the oven in a wheelchair.
Everything worked out fine. I managed not to burn myself, which considering it would have been my chest, is a good thing, and it made a very nice dinner. This is about as close as I get to cooking normally.
Today I felt so tired from my lack of sleep at night for several nights that I crashed for about four hours, from 11 am till 3 pm. So I haven't actually been up much today. Earlier I was wishing the chair had a recline feature, so I could still be sitting up but sleep. But I'm just happy it gets me around.
I did manage to pay for some medicines over the phone and check the mail (there was nothing of consequence on that front, just haircut coupons). I've texted with one friend and spoken with another over the phone. Someone is supposed to bring over my laundry tonight that she and another lady did; in fact she's on her way. So I guess that's some things accomplished or about to be.
I wish I hadn't missed such a beautiful day. It was supposed to push 70 degrees. But it's still not been bad in here.
I'm not seeing much on the news to blog about, although here in Kentucky we had a small earthquake. That's about it. So I'll sign off for now and maybe write later.
