Born, like other comic book characters, out of an otherwise trivial but life-changing animal bite, the Rabid Librarian seeks out strange, useless facts, raves about real and perceived injustices, and seeks to meet her greatest challenge of all--her own life.

I can hear and see the little birds outside my window
Seeing birds almost always cheer me up, especially the small sparrows that flit about. I know over the years I've written about what the geese are up to, or various bird sightings. I'm a very passive birdwatcher; I don't go out seeking them. But I am fascinated by their delicate natures, their repertoire of noises, and their ability to fly. There is just something cheery about a fluffy sparrow chirping, or a mockingbird's song, or an owl's call. I don't even mind a crow's caw, and I can't help but count them. But maybe I'm a bit odd on that one.
