Home after a very long day

Today I:
  1. Loaded two carts of laundry, a backpack, a laptop bag, and a reusable grocery bag full of stuff into the car
  2. Stopped by the grocery for laundry detergent and a few things
  3. Backed up my friend's computer onto an external hard drive
  4. Prepared the their house for the game, doing the weekly chores
  5. Watched some 'Fairly OddParents' and bits of 'Law & Order'
  6. Did three loads of laundry
  7. Received two kinds of lettuce, kale, and green onions from Brenda's garden
  8. Tried to pill a dog that was outside by an air conditioning unit under a large poison ivy vine. I had two medicines to give her with some bread and Marmite. I managed to get the first down her but not the other. :( YKWIA is going to try later.
  9. Played the game and visited with YKWIA and Brenda
  10. With help, loaded everything back into the car
  11. Came home and got it all unloaded in two trips
  12. Emptied out the fruit fly traps and reset them (they're really helping)
I am so glad I put the air conditioning on before I left today, although I set it at 75, so it shouldn't have kicked on too much. I didn't stay for 'Salem'; I'm terribly behind, but YKWIA brought me up to speed. I'm a little tired, and just want to go on to bed, I think. I must remember not to get up and go to work in the morning; I keep forgetting it's a holiday.

Tomorrow my plan is to work on the house some more and then watch The Color Purple with friends. I also need to mop over there; I didn't get that finished before Brenda got there today. But all in all, I hope for a productive day.

Okay, I think this is where I say good night. Hope your weekend is going well.

A little excited

Next Monday, May 11th, Charlaine Harris is doing a ticketed book signing at Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Lexington at 7 pm. I must admit, it would be nice to go. I've read the Aurora Teagarden, Sookie Stackhouse, and Harper Connelly series, as well as part of Midnight Crossroad, which is on my Kindle and is the pre-cursor to the one she's signing, Day Shift. Strange for a librarian, I suppose, but I've never actually been to a book signing. Of course, if I get the physical book of Day Shift signed, then I'll have to eventually get the first book in hardback, too. :) I have the Sookie Stackhouse books in book club hardbacks, most of the Aurora Teagarden books, which are about a librarian-turned-sleuth, in paperback (still working on that, through PaperbackSwap.com). The others I've read through the library or on my Kindle. We'll see. I'm not a great fan of crowds. If I go, I'll report back here.

Sorry I haven't blogged in a couple of days. Sunday I came home a little early because Brenda had a meeting so we cut the game a couple of hours short. I went straight to bed for a couple of hours and then called YKWIA at 9:30 (I set an alarm) so he'd be able to watch 'Salem'. But he recorded it so A and I could watch it later. Monday was a friend's '5th birthday' in a 12-step programme and we went to his celebration. It lasted till 9 or 9:30. I got home around 11 pm, and had to be up at 6 am, so I didn't get much sleep as it was and couldn't really bring myself to blog. But I'm glad I went, and I got to meet his co-worker/distant cousin, who came as well.

Today was one of my early days at work, so I was able to leave by 4 for an appointment with the allergist and my allergy shot. One more shot and I'll be ready to go up a step in the shots. I'm feeling much better than I was because I'm on a medicine called levocetirizine that is related to Zyrtec. It's been really helping with my allergies.

Tonight is 'iZombie', which I heard was picked up for next season, so yay! That's at 9. I think I'll take a little nap before heading over there to watch. Hope you are enjoying your week, so far!

Finally, sun!

After a rainy day of going to the vet and to the grocery store, I am home and have put the geraniums back out on the window ledge, where they are soaking up the newly-arrived sunshine. Earlier today, while over at my friends' house, I watched a somewhat contentious episode of 'The Vicar of Dibley', which tried to bring attention to poverty, as well as dealing with Geraldine's 40th birthday, and followed up with 'The Bishop of Dibley', a one-off for charity on Red Nose Day, which put Jim's tendency to stutter out 'no' to good (or rather, bad) use. I mention the poverty episode as being contentious, as apparently some found it either too liberal, some heavy-handed, perhaps violating impartiality rules at the BBC, or just plain annoying. I really do like the show, although the entire village are insane, save perhaps David Horton, and Geraldine herself, but even she has her moments, and they all belong in an episode of 'Midsomer Murders', I think. They would give the police aneurysms.

The plan is to watch 'Salem' today, but when we got back from the grocery, YKWIA was napping and I realised I did not have my medicine, so I just came on home and will go back over later if and when they call me. In the meantime, I think I may have a nap myself, and then maybe work on the living room.

We didn't play the game today

but I did finish the notes early this morning, worked on my Sunday housework list at my friends' house, then came home and rested for awhile before heading back for 'Salem' tonight, which was excellent. It was a very good season opener, with Lucy Lawless and Stuart Townsend joining the cast.

Tomorrow I go to work and then mid-morning I have an appointment with a therapist. Tuesday I have my allergies tested for the first time in about 15 years. I won't say that being off my allergy medicine in the meantime has been miserable, but it has been unpleasant and annoying. I hadn't realised how bad my allergies still were without the Claritin. I'd thought that it wasn't doing much any more. It's not taking care of them completely, of course, but it has been knocking them down somewhat. I've been sneezing, itching, and my eyes and nose leak constantly. I'll be glad when the testing is over and I can try an anti-histamine again.

Well, it's midnight. I should probably go on to bed so I can get up for work in the morning. Good night.

The game involved some brain-dead strategising

between Brenda and myself, although I think we're poised to reach the climax of the adventure next time. We're trying to rescue three people from a village of nearly three hundred serpent people, led by a Serpent Mage, somewhere in the middle of the South American jungle, survive, and get out of there. That's a tall order at the moment.

Afterwards I fixed YKWIA some dinner and watched 'Hart of Dixie' with him; we only have six more episodes left on Netflix. :(

I realised last night that I had already transcribed the game notes, the weekend after my trip. That made life easier. But last night I spent the entire night waking up and then falling right back into an odd dream of Serpent men in Japanese guise and business suits, who were experimenting on humans, including me and and a man who were not characters in the game, but were of the class of characters, but we didn't have our swords or mystical powers, so we were pretty much just human. We were living in a compound until it was stormed by some sort of government agency, and everyone was saved. We'd been there some time; some of them had children who were four or five. But we couldn't say we were basically lab rats in an experiment run by Serpent Men. So the media thought it was some sort of cult that kidnapped people for some unknown reason. The whole dream unfolded a little at a time; I'd wake up, and go straight back into it. It was very odd. A lot of it came from the game, of course. At one point in the game, for example, a group of us were kept in a transparent house 65 million years into the future by the Great Race of Yith, who were in bug form in that time. We had hedges that ate people, and one of Brenda's characters was pregnant at the time she went on the adventures, so during the gestation she was in a suspended animation pod on the moon and then delivered her daughter on a vastly changed Earth where we were basically lab rats. So that may have been in the back of mind, too.

Okay, I'm tired; sorry to be so brief. There's a reason I don't tend to blog on Sunday nights--I'm normally tired from getting the house ready for the game, playing the game itself, and whatever happens later. It's an all-day thing. And starting next week, 'Salem' is back on, at 10 pm on Sundays. I don't know if I can stay up that late each week for awhile. We'll see. It's a good show, after all. Good night.

I am off work today, yay!

    So far I have:
  1. Slept in till 9:30, a full hour after I'm normally at my desk, yay!
  2. Paid two bills that were actually due yesterday but since it was Sunday, they wouldn't credit them anyway till today.
  3. Escalated a case with eBay where a seller never sent me the item and has not responded to my attempts to contact them (and got a refund!)
  4. Eaten breakfast (Veggie sausage, egg, and cheese on an English muffin.)
  5. Charged my glucometer (I had it charging last night and it didn't work for some reason, so I had t do it again,)
  6. Checked out Facebook and taken three quizzes (I am supposedly supposed to live in Los Angeles--which I went to in the 1970s and didn't care for--and I came out as Captain Jack Harkness for 'Doctor Who' companion. Can't remember the other one, as I am writing the commentaries later in the day.)
  7. Checked my e-mail (Mostly the normal stuff. I love that on my computer I have the ninjas theme for Gmail, though. It's very cheery.)
  8. Checked the news (Lots of violence, see later post on gun violence.)
So now it's on to other things. What I'd like to do today:
  • Get my hair cut. (I did, but she didn't really take off as much as I asked her too; it's been barely trimmed.)
  • Get into the pool. (See later post on that.)
  • Maybe go to Lane Bryant. (Decided to go to Meijer and check out sandals instead, to no avail.)
  • Go to the library and return a couple of books. (Did that.)
  • Listen to music. (Of Monsters and Men's My Head is an Animal.)
  • Watch some of those things on the DVR and DVDs that I haven't yet. (Thinking about 'Sherlock', but haven't yet).
In other words, do what in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy they used to call 'pleasurable adult activities' and relax. :) Oh, and maybe get a jump on the game notes. We had a good game, then watched 'Witches of East End' and 'Salem'. But I was tired and a little hormonal last night when I got home, so I went straight to bed.

Okay, off the computer and time to do something fun. Enjoy your day!

(PS: I also napped on and off throughout the day, keeping off my knee, which hurts, but not as bad as it usually does. Oddly enough, the left knee is really hurting, a sharp pain when I move it. Perhaps I hurt it at the same time, only not as badly, and it's starting to act up, or, perhaps it's just working harder since I'm putting most of my weight on to it instead of the right knee. Hurts either way.)

I had a very nice Fourth of July

    I:
  • Slept in.
  • Visited with three friends.
  • Watched 12 Years a Slave with one of them, which was a very good movie, although somewhat difficult to watch, but underscored the fragility of freedom for the day.
  • Did a small grocery run.
  • Listened to music.
  • Had a brief nap.
  • Watched the fireworks at Idle Hour, which were awesome, especially with the running commentary by my co-worker's grandchildren. At one point someone briefly lost a child in the crowd and the police and firefighters came, and her grandson was sure we'd all be arrested.
What I didn't do was go to the parade/downtown festival, which is a shame, but with my knee the way it is, it makes no sense to walk on it all over creation. Let's face it, pain isn't fun. I was really looking forward to it, too, and the weather was lovely today--cooler without a hint of rain.

I checked in on TvTag (formerly GetGlue) after the movie and someone said 'it was very true to the novel'. It wasn't based on a work of fiction, but rather on a 19th-century memoir/slave narrative of a free man who went through the harrowing experience of being kidnapped and sold into slavery. My friend didn't know it was a true story either, and I think my telling him made it somewhat harder for him to watch. I must say the acting was very good. I particularly think Chiwetel Ejiofor did an excellent job as Solomon Northrup. Personally, I am surprised he did not win the Oscar for his performance, but then I haven't seen Dallas Buyers Club, so I haven't seen Matthew McConaughey's performance. Michael Fassbender was very good as Epps, and Lupita Nyong'o was very good as Patsey. But I thought Ejiofor really was the best. I am glad the film won the Academy Award for Best Picture, at least. I would like to read the book, Twelve Years a Slave, which I have on my Kindle but haven't gotten to yet.

Well, the fireworks are still going off outside in my neighbourhood. There's a dog upstairs that has quieted down. I hope my friends' dogs are doing okay. Two don't really mind the sounds, but one just gets terrified and will stay under one's desk at his feet. But they used to have neighbours who set them off next door and they moved some time ago, so maybe it won't be so bad.

By the way, remember the show 'Vicious' I was writing about? I did get to see the first episode (that's all that's aired on PBS as of yet). It is very funny. It comes on the same time as 'Salem', which has two more episodes, but fortunately you can watch on the PBS website as well.

Okay, I think I'm going to start winding down for the night. It's almost midnight. I might play a little on the Atari before bed. :)

Quiet evening at home

Last night I watched 'Salem' (which only has two episodes left and is really heating up) with YKWIA and A. This morning I turned in my book review for publication review, along with a copyright form. I got quite a bit completed at work, despite the knee pain, but some ibuprofen and an ice pack got me through. I came home and immediately elevated the knee, falling asleep for a couple of hours. Then I got up and straightened the house, loaded the dishwasher, put my medicine in its pill holder, and changed out purses. I walked over to the laundry room for a soda (which is a testament to how elevating the leg helps--at work I put off going to get water or anything from the cafeteria because it's across the building. Unfortunately, although I've tried to elevate my leg at my desk using a library step stool and a pillow, it doesn't work as well if it's not above your heart. In fact, it starts to hurt after awhile.) I set the laptop back up and I've been playing around on the Internet. I would play a couple of games on the Atari, but it's been storming a little and I'd unplugged it for now. It's on a fairly simple surge protector, and I don't want it overwhelmed. Now it's 11 pm and I'm thinking of going on to bed. I may read for a little while and listen to some soft music before I sleep.

Tomorrow afternoon I find out what's going on with my knee. If it is a meniscal tear, from what I've been reading, given my age and having a bit of arthritis already, they may just send me to physical therapy rather than surgery, as the outcomes are about the same and while some people have to go ahead and have surgery after a course of physical therapy, most don't. Here's hoping for that, as that means I could continue to drive and wouldn't miss work. Of course, if there are other issues--tendons or ligaments involved, etc., then that could be something altogether different. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Last night

I was at a point after the game that I could barely see straight, due to being tired and the knee pain. And that was with A doing the sweeping and mopping of the house instead of me while we were doing game preparations, and I was generally trying to stay off my feet. I went on home before 'Salem', took some pain reliever, plugged up the phone to its charger, and just went ahead and put my leg up on some pillows and my CPAP on, and I was asleep so quickly. I did not unpack the computer, change clothes, or bring my laundry in from the car. It's still there, actually.

Tonight I need to:
  • Write a book review that's due tomorrow.
  • Stop by the library to pick up a book that's on hold.
  • Put my leg up for a bit.
What I'd like to do:
  • Watch 'Salem' with YKWIA and 'A' if I'm up to it.
  • Straighten up the house just a bit (it's not bad, just needs a bit of tender loving care).
  • Play a video game or two to relax.
I'm going to start with putting my knee up for a bit, now that I've eaten and checked online for fun things to post (I didn't find anything just now). I'll be glad to find out what's wrong with my knee on Wednesday. Keep your fingers crossed that it isn't too bad and will be something that will heal quickly. Thanks!

After the Cthulhu game

we decided that neither of us were up to watching 'Salem' tonight, although it's a very good show, so we set the DVR to record and will watch it later, when we're not so tired. I've cleaned house, helped A with some of his chores (and he helped with mine), washed a dog, and did the game, and so I'm ready to get some rest. I'm not quite falling over tired, like YKWIA was, but I'll be there soon. Besides, this way we can watch with A, who has a much earlier morning schedule and so always has to watch later anyway.

Now I'm home and it looks like a thunderstorm may be brewing. The clouds at dusk were very dark and ominous. I got home before any rain, though, which is good.

Tomorrow the work week starts all over and I have a copier down (it went down right before the end of day Friday). Hopefully we'll get that back up and running. Tuesday I have an appointment to see an orthopaedist about my knee, which has been doing a bit better this weekend, but I was off it almost completely yesterday and about half as much as usual today.

Okay, I think I'll try reading a bit before bed and listening to some music. Tomorrow I should be able to download the rest of Ed Sheeran's album x. I was able to get 'Sing' when I pre-ordered the .mp3 album, but tomorrow is the release date.

Hope your weekend was wonderful and relaxing. Good night.

Today we watched two things of interest

The first being the Leonardo DiCaprio/Tobey Maguire version of The Great Gatsby which, with the exception of some anachronistic music, was very entertaining. I thought the acting was well done, the costumes were to die for, the settings were dead on, and the spectacle of the parties superb. It had real style. But then, it was directed by Baz Luhrmann, so that isn't unexpected. And although my memory of the book isn't very clear, refreshing my memory with a plot synopsis online shows that the movie touched on all the main points, as it should have. I could have used a little more jazz and a lot less rap, but that's really my only gripe.

After the movie A retired to Masterpiece Mystery on PBS in the bedroom and YKWIA and I watched 'Salem' on WGN in the living room. I must say that series gets progressively better each week. There are four more episodes to go this season, I think. That should get us through a good portion of the summer, and then all our shows should be over for now until 'Doctor Who' starts up in August.

I am home now, but it is, however, quite late (nearly 1 am), so I am going to head on to bed. Hope you had a good weekend. Good night.

Had a great Cthulhu game

in which we all survived, thankfully, despite dealing with lots of Deep Ones and a Star Spawn. I'm posting mainly because I kind of dropped the laptop from about an inch or two above the floor and broke the transmitter for the wireless mouse, although it still works, just the end came off, but also wanted to check to make sure the computer itself works and can connect to the Internet. At the moment I'm connecting through my phone's hotspot, and it seems to be working pretty well. In fact, it seems faster than my cable connexion.

Next up is the show 'Salem', which we've been watching. So, I should go now. Hope you had a great weekend.

Sleepy

I've walked 7742 steps today, which is 4.35 miles and burned 777 calories. Not bad for a weekend. I have also cleaned my friends' house (slowly, taking my time), did a couple of loads of my laundry (it's so nice to be caught up on that; I just have a small hamper each week), went to Lowe's and my friend got something but I found some glass shades which match my lamp pretty well to replace the one I broke. Then YKWIA and I watched some things that hurt my brain, including 'Mice Bikers from Mars' (although I liked 'Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys', as it had a lot of humour. Then we did a total turnabout and watched 'Salem', which just keeps getting more interesting. Now I'm home, the lampshades are on, my groceries are put away, but my laundry is going to wait till tomorrow, I'm afraid. It's sitting neatly in the dining room for now.

Okay, I'm going on to bed. Hope you had a nice weekend, and good luck in the coming week.

Any Cthulhu game

where you drop a cavern on scores of Deep Ones, escape an Aegyptian tomb that had been sealed by a rockslide, avoided a rampaging shoggoth, and watched an evil sorceror torn apart by his Deep One minions is a good one. Next time we'll try to contain the large Mythos creature that threatens to breach the gates long sealed, and put a not-quite-evil but definitely annoying and nasty sorceress in her place. This was followed by an intriguing episode of 'Salem' on television.

Tomorrow YKWIA, Brenda, and I are going to meet back up to go to Fayette Mall and watch X-Men: Days of Future Past. Hopefully, that will be fun. But for tonight, I'm bushed. I'm going on to bed. Good night.

Thursday, May 22, 2014

Wow

I got home from watching 'The 100' with a friend about 10:45 pm, after the major storm had passed which drenched the city but while some others were coming through. I was hot and sticky (yes, serves me right for wearing polyester), so I came in with all intents and purposes of blogging but instead I took out my contacts, took off my clothes, turned on the fan in the bedroom, and propped my feet up on the bed. I'd been aching everywhere, and my knee is still bothering me a lot, so it felt good to have the breeze on me. I told myself I'd lie there for a minute or two, then go get my glasses, something to eat, and some ibuprofen. Than was three and a half hours ago. :) So now I'm doing all that, plus I cleared out some algae that was invading the fish tank's filtration system.

I got an e-mail saying the second of two positions I'd applied for had been filled. :( There is another one that just opened, though, so I'll go ahead and apply. I'm thinking that indicates an internal candidate got at least one of the jobs.

I submitted two book reviews today, was very productive at work, and then came home and had dinner and about 45 minutes of resting (no, I didn't nap). Then it was over to YKWIA's where we watched the first episode of the British comedy 'Clone' and then 'The 100', which is getting better and better as it goes along. I wonder how close it is to the book upon which it is based, by Kass Morgan? That might be worth looking at after the season's over, which will be three more episodes. Soon there will just be 'Salem' to watch, as 'Grimm' is over for the year. But hey, that's what Amazon Prime and Netflix are for. :)

Okay, I've had a little cereal and I'm going to take that ibuprofen. Time to go back to bed. Good night!

I was feeling oddly awake after my time over at my friends' house

but now I think I'm going to crash soon after all. I spent a good deal of the day there, culminating in an episode of 'Salem', and had a good visit.

I talked to my mom today, who hasn't gotten my card yet (I sent it Thursday, and really thought it was enough time to go 35 miles away, but sadly, no.) My aunt and uncle will both be in this week so I'm going to try to take at least part of Thursday off to go visit them, my mom, and my grandmother. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone.

Tomorrow the plan is to work more on the house, especially the kitchen, bath, and dining room. I'll be sending Philomena back to Netflix tomorrow, and I'd like to have the house ready so A can watch his Bette Davis movies. YKWIA doesn't care for her, so we'll be watching at my house. :)

Okay, that's all for now. I must get up early tomorrow for work, so even though I'm still a bit restless, it's time to move the fan back to the bedroom, plug the phone in to charge, and head to bed. Good night.

Saturday, May 10, 2014

Just got in a little while ago

after watching Philomena with friends. It was a very good movie. It breaks my heart what these girls endured for their 'sins', and how terrible it must have been for them.

Last night was 'Grimm' (only one more this season!), today was the pharmacy, grocery, and Philomena. Tomorrow there's no game due to illness, so I'm going to try to get something done here in the morning and then go over there mid-afternoon and work on their house, then watch 'Salem' at 10 pm.

Otherwise, not much is happening, which can be a blessing at times. Tomorrow is Mother's Day, of course, so I need to be sure and call my mom. My mom's brother is coming up soon and I need to see if their sister is coming in soon, too, and if so, if there's an overlap. I had originally thought to go visit on Memorial Day but may move it up to see them. My grandmother's 90th birthday is coming up as well. So, yay, I'll see about getting to visit. Going to bed now, though, I think, with maybe a little reading first. Good night!

Saturday, April 26, 2014

Well, that was gross

I opened a container of Philadelphia garden vegetable 1/2-fat cream cheese and it was positively soupy. It could have been used in place of ranch dip. I'd just bought it at the store; it wasn't out of the refrigerator long. It didn't smell bad; it just never set up, apparently. But it's scary, so no eating it. So I am now eating Havarti cheese on my everything bagel instead.

It's been a couple of busy days. Yesterday I went into work early to make up some time from an appointment. Afterwards, I looked up something without success for a friend (but not for lack of trying--it had to do with chemistry and Jewish religious literature). After admitting defeat, I laid down for a bit and listened to some music. Then I went over there for 'Grimm', and went to bed once I got home about 10:45.

Today I tried to get up early to do some things around here, but to no avail. I started my morning trying to chase two Yorkshire terriers (no, I don't have any dogs, these were just running loose down Pimlico Parkway towards of Man O'War, but I couldn't catch them). I do hope they found their way home. The smallest one was really hard to see from a car. Then I visited my friends, took one to pay a bill, get some things from the pharmacy, and go to the grocery store. We all ate, and then YKWIA showed me a video on YouTube and we discussed it. Then we went hunting for an item or two at Macy's at the mall.

Now it's almost 8:30 pm and I am home and am listening to Of Monsters and Men's My Head is an Animal. I don't have to do notes tonight (I finished those last week). I have watered all the plants inside and out. I should work on the house, but frankly, I'm not sure I'm up to it right now. I'm afraid it's a little overwhelming at the moment. I have things strewn everywhere. Funny, I can be so organised at work, but at home it's chaos if I don't really work on it. But I'd like to get it straightened up so I can have company over to watch a movie. Maybe I could try to wake up early (assuming I go to bed earlier than normal). But tomorrow's already going to be pretty busy, between game prep, game, 'Salem', dog washies, and helping a friend do a project. Oh, and I have to finish a class by Monday. I have some videos to watch and a small project to do if I want to finish. Whew. So Monday might be better for housework. Or, several of our doctors are going to POSNA next week (Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America), so it will be pretty slow at work, especially on Wednesday. I don't have much personal time off, but I may try to get off then. That would give me most of the day to work on the house, until it's time to go over for 'The 100'. [Which, incidentally, YKWIA had a very good point the other night--the name should be changing each week to reflect the people in the group who have died on the show.]

Okay, I think I will go try to do something relaxing and fun. I feel I've earned it.

I got my new glasses today

These are a little stronger, both in the regular prescription and the bifocal, so I'm having a bit of a fishbowl effect going on. But I'm getting used to them already. I can see much clearer. My other glasses were about three years old, at least (although I've been wearing bifocal contacts the majority of the time, so it hasn't been that bad). These are more rectangular than my old ones, which were circular. I'm hoping they will give the illusion that my face isn't quite so round. Oh, and of course, they are my favourite colour--purple, though a little thicker and darker than the ones I had. I also put my order in for new contacts, as I've been wearing a trial pair for a couple of weeks now, and they should arrive in about a week.

Yesterday we wound up cancelling the game, so I got those applications into the library. First thing this morning, I renewed my American Library Association and Kentucky Library Association memberships, which had lapsed, so my résumé would be entirely accurate. :) I'd meant to renew, anyway, but that added some extra incentive. I also belong to the Medical Library Association, but that was renewed in January. Tonight I took some library books back, both for myself and for a friend, and then got some books on job interviews. Please keep your fingers crossed that I get that far!

Last night YKWIA watched 'Salem' on WGN. It was well-done in terms of story and suspense. It's not the most historically accurate show there could be (as YKWIA pointed out, the most glaring bit of wrongness is that while the trials were in Salem, the events happened in nearby Danvers Village, which was never mentioned). But overall, I am intrigued and want to see where they go with it. So right now we're mainly watching that and 'The 100' on Wednesday's CW lineup.

I'm home now. I think I'll do a bit of reading and listen to some music. If for some reason I don't write again tonight, have a great evening.
