Some of us have not forgotten

There was a news story about this motorcyle ride: The Official Trail of Tears Commemorative Motorcycle Ride honouring those killed and uprooted during the 1838 forced removal of the Cherokee. I think it's an excellent form of education...what person, seeing that many motorcycles, isn't going to ask what they're commemorating?

A brief history can be found on their website. For more info on the Cherokee, please see the official sites of the Cherokee Nation based in Oklahoma and the Eastern Band of Cherokee.
