Born, like other comic book characters, out of an otherwise trivial but life-changing animal bite, the Rabid Librarian seeks out strange, useless facts, raves about real and perceived injustices, and seeks to meet her greatest challenge of all--her own life.

Something men just won't ever understand
Or we could be like Sheldon.

Voilà! The costume was a hit, both at work, and afterwards....

One of the fun things about working in a children's hospital
- Soft Kitty T-shirt
- Long purple shirt under the t-shirt, like Sheldon wears
- Purple and black cat ears headband
- Purple pants
- Purple fake fur 'leg warmers' (elasticised at the knee, hanging down like bell bottoms)
- Purple fake fur tail
- Nose with cream blush, whiskers and kitty mouth drawn on with black body makeup
- The official Soft Kitty plush, which YKWIA gave me a few years ago, that plays the song when you squeeze its paw

Feeling somewhat better tonight
Wednesday, October 07, 2015
For someone
Who does not normally watch television, I am fairly committed this season:
Monday: 'The Big Bang Theory' and 'Minority Report'
Tuesday: 'iZombie'
Thursday:' Heroes Reborn'
Friday: 'Grimm' (starting October 30th)
It would be Wednesday, too, but I'm too wussy for 'American Horror Story'. And of course, 'Doctor Who' is an issue with YKWIA, who can't understand Peter Capaldi. So Saturday is more for Netflix, like 'Lost Girl' and 'Haven'. (YKWIA also won't watch SyFy due to how they spell their logo, so we catch those shows on Netflix rather than cable.) ;)
Okay, good night!

Sad
Anyway, we'll see how it goes. The evening took strange turns tonight. I was reminded that I was supposed to dose the dogs for fleas, so I after 'Big Bang Theory', which was great, especially one of Sheldon's mom's lines--'When your idiot brother redeems others, he can marry whomever he wants', I went over there and dosed the dogs, gave one her pill with peanut butter and bread and the rest peanut butter on bread without the pill, cleaned her up a bit, and we were watching the premiere of 'Minority Report' when my mom called. It looks to be a good show, we liked it, so it probably will be cancelled. YKWIA is a bit like Sheldon, not particularly comforting, so afterwards he got A up out of bed (he works very early in the morning) and had him hug me. That was sweet, on both parts. But now I'm home, and away from the distractions of TV, and it's starting to hit me, not just the sadness but the fear of losing her. She's really the only family I have left in Kentucky, and we've shared a lot of life together. But, it must be much worse for her right now. Anyway, I'm going to go on to bed. Tomorrow is an early day, and I'll be in registration part of the morning. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers, if you don't mind, and thanks for doing so. Good night.
I am a danger to myself (but not so much others)
But I got it lit without burning the place down. 'The Big Bang Theory' is coming on in a few minutes, and I'm going to watch it. It's one show I don't need cable for. I'm going to finish by baked potato and cheese and then turn it on. I'll probably write later, but if not (I might do some reading), have a good night!

One more post tonight
I woke up at an ungodly hour

Having some toast
I came in pretty late last night, so I didn't blog. Wednesday morning I had an endocrinology appointment, then I went to a webcast on data management at UK in the afternoon, and took my friend to an appointment. We watched some syndicated 'Big Bang Theory' and then 'iZombie'. We are convinced that the latter will be cancelled because, well, we both like it, and that often happens to the shows we like. But it's pretty fun.
Today I had a visit from an outreach librarian with the Greater Midwest Region of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine's office in Chicago. We met for about an hour and a half, and it was very nice. She was down for a conference and when I was up in Chicago we'd made arrangements for her to stop by. After work, I ran over to the pharmacy and then over to my friends' house, where I took one to get something he needed from the store. We visited for quite a while.
Tomorrow I have to be at work by 7:30 am, then I have to iron out an issue for a friend during lunch, and then I'll get off work early for my allergy shot. 'Grimm' is on tomorrow night.
Saturday is a trip to an appointment and a grocery run. Sunday will (hopefully) be the game, assuming Brenda is feeling better. At least I already have the game notes finished.
Okay, I think I'll check the news. YKWIA was telling me about a scientist who is asserting that Mars' condition is the result of a nuclear attack and that we are the Martians' descendants. Um...oh, dear. I should probably go look for myself. If I don't blog any more tonight (and I can tell it's almost time till sleep becomes imperative), have a good night.

The Big Bang Theory tonight
Made me cry. It still makes me well up with tears when I think about it. It was very fitting, and I'm glad they chose this route. But it was still sad. I won't say anything more in case you haven't seen it yet. But you frankly should try to see it. That's it for me tonight, I think. I'm listening to OneRepublic's Native album (specifically, 'I Lived' at the moment). After that I think it's time to turn in for the night. Take care, stay safe. Good night.

Highlights of today
- Work wsa a bit slow. Tomorrow should be a good day for things I don't normally have time for; a lecture is going on at the hospital, so no clinic or surgeries, hence not much in the way of data entry to do. Perhaps I'll finally get some of those boxes out of the library. I normally take off on this occasion, but simply don't have the personal time to do so this time.
- Picked up my shoes and orthoses from the foot surgeon's office. I am now officially considered healed, being followed up on a yearly basis due to my diabetes, but the ankle/foot injury is officially in the past. Yay! And the new orthoses are soft and cushioned, and I think once I break them in they'll be much better for my feet, especially to start exercising by walking.
- Took a friend and his dog to the vet and got her situated so hopefully she'll be feeling better.
- Watched the second episode of 'Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries'.
- Watched the holiday episode of 'The Big Bang Theory'
- Watched most of The Princess and the Frog. It was actually better than I expected.
