The Dalai Lama announces his intent to step down as political leader for the Tibetan government-in-exile
His plans are to devolve his authority to an elected leader at an upcoming parliament of the government-in-exile. The announcement was made in a statement commemorating the 52nd anniversary of the Tibetan uprising. It sounds like he is making good decisions to assure the stability and continuity of the government continues.
My hope is that one day Tibetans can be free to make their own decisions in their homeland, and that those in exile can return.
