We canceled a couple of hours before we were due to start, and there won't be one next week, as Brenda will be visiting relatives out of state. But that's okay. I've spent much of the weekend at my friend's house helping him and then running people around town. I did get home by six last night, but I had to do the game notes, since the plan was to play Call of Cthulhu at that point. Today I cleaned his house, but we also watched Netflix ('Star Trek: Deep Space Nine', 'Haven' , and 'Very British Problems') and Hulu ('Ugly Betty'). He also fed me dinner. So there was relaxation, too. My neck is doing a little better, yay. I got home a little before 9 pm and listened to music/rested before getting A from work at midnight. Richmond Road is being paved at night and is down to one lane of traffic. The flag worker had a sign that said 'slow' that also had lights on it. So, it took a little while to get there. Fortunately I come home on Alumni. Anyway, that was my day. I've got to get up in about five hours. Good night.
Born, like other comic book characters, out of an otherwise trivial but life-changing animal bite, the Rabid Librarian seeks out strange, useless facts, raves about real and perceived injustices, and seeks to meet her greatest challenge of all--her own life.

I'm feeling pretty sad right now
I think it's time to head over to Facebook. I need something to cheer me up. Maybe there will be a funny video or two.

Happy leap day, or
as my word of the day puts it, bissextus. Just a quick note to say hi, really. Yesterday we played the game again for the first time since before Christmas, and while it was fun, I got home late and didn't get much sleep. The highlight of my day today was giving blood (pint 42). I've been tired all day, unrelated to that, and as the day wore on, I've gotten quite a few aches where rain is coming. A friend gave me some 8-hour Tylenol Arthritis, and I made him soy dogs and we watched 'Ugly Betty'.
I'm home now, which is good, as I have to go over at 5:30 am tomorrow to pick someone up and get him to an appointment by 8 am, which is always a challenge. So now it's a little after 10:30 pm, so time for bed. Good night!

I feel
Like I've run all over Creation today (and nearly got stuck in the unholy morass that is Tiverton Way). Today I have gone:
1) To pick up a friend at his house
2) Taken him to the pharmacy
3) Dropped him off at the barber
4) Returned home
5) Ate and took meds while playing Civilization IV
6) Went back to his house right as he was getting home in the bus
7) Got lost with him on Tiverton Way looking for Scrub World
8) Had to get in another lane when leaving the area so I wouldn't wind up blocking the intersection
9) Managed to get in the right lane and go to a men's clothing shop, turning at the right place
10) Found they were closing out stock, didn't have what we were looking for, and their new store is...yes, in Tiverton Way
11) Gave up on the clothing run
12) Went to the grocery
13) Found Homemade brand coconut almond chocolate chip ice cream -- one all three of us love--a lot
14) Spent time with YKWIA while A watched the basketball game and a movie about Scientology
15) Watched 'Ugly Betty' and 'Star Trek: Voyager'
16) Called Brenda about playing the game tomorrow
17) Helped clean up the library at their house
18) Spent time with YKWIA
Now I' m home and very, very tired. Good night.

A slow day
But now it's over. Work was kind of slow, but tomorrow will be busy because I'm back in scheduling. Same goes for Wednesday. Today after work I took a friend to physical therapy, but I didn't have it because I've transitioned out for now. I practiced my Latin while I waited, making it through four chapters of Wheelock's Latin, plus another couple from Ecce Romani! I'm trying to review some every day as part of keeping my fluency and exercising my brain. I also did several crosswords on my phone.
Yesterday I did my laundry and helped with the Sunday chores over at my friends', but one of them sat me down and told me it was high time I watched Ferris Bueller's Day Off, which I missed thirty years ago when it came out. I liked it a lot, and it was nice to see landmarks of Chicago I recognised.
Tonight after we got in we watched 'Ugly Betty', visited, and somehow it was midnight when I got home, so I'm headed to bed. Good night!

These are amazing...
YKWIA found these, and others of Alex Boyé's work, and we watched them together, in between several episodes of 'Ugly Betty'. It was a nice day. Next week the game resumes, even though it'll be Valentine's Day, and I'm looking forward to that. So today, although I cleaned house over there and did my laundry, was about relaxing in front of the screen and watching fun things. :) Hope you had a good weekend, too.

It was a blah day
And I really didn't come out of my blahness until after I cleaned my friends' house and sat down to watch 'The Shannara Chronicles' premiere (yes, we're behind), which was visually stunning, pretty decent in terms of acting and story, and generally I want to see more. I also want to go back and read the books, as it has been ages, and I've only read the original trilogy anyway. After that we watched another episode of 'Ugly Betty', and then I headed home. So it was not bad after the initial lack of enthusiasm. I think whatever was going on with my mood may be hormonal. I still haven't had a period, and it's been over a week since it was due. (No worries about pregnancy, at least.) It was also beautiful outside, in the mid-60s and sunny. I must admit, we haven't had much of a winter yet, but I'm already ready for spring.
Okay, I've filled my pill box and done a few small things around here. Time for bed. Good night.
I just slept a long time and I'm still having trouble waking up
So last night, I came home, was online briefly, but didn’t actually sit down and blog, but rather worked out a budget for the next two months, and by 9 pm was so tired I could barely concentrate anymore and headed to bed, forgetting entirely to take my Lantus, but my blood sugar was 99 anyway this morning, probably because I finally got up about 10 am this morning, although the original plan was 6 am, but then I decided I might as well sleep in, as I obviously need it. I had mentioned it had seemed like a long week, right? And I got up early yesterday to take the dog to the vet (all’s pretty okay with that; they treated her wounds, which are shallow and not likely to be animal-related, and sent her home with some pain medicine. She’s still slow and obviously not well, but she’ll drink and take her medicine, and my friend left her in to slowly eat her food last night while the others went out.)
I did do all the running I expected to do except that while I did a small grocery run for myself, we didn’t do the supplemental run with A yesterday, as he got back from the barber very late. I’d dropped him off at noon, and it took until 3 pm, they were so busy, for him to get his hair cut. 3 hours! It makes the half an hour I waited at the cable company to return my equipment seem like a piece of cake. He came home on the bus, so it was after 4:30 when he got home.
In the meantime, YKWIA and I watched a couple of episodes of ‘Ugly Betty’ and Friday night’s ‘Grimm’. Both of us at first thought Meisner and Lucien were being played by the same person, perhaps a double agent or related characters, but I looked them up last night and they are different actors. But there’s a resemblance.
Okay, I should call A and see what the plans are for the store trip and other things we normally do on Sundays. I kind of want to just hang out here for awhile, but I’m in a sleepy-restful mood, meaning I probably wouldn’t get anything done. At least over there I can get my laundry finished along with all the stuff over there, and spend time with good company.

Guess what?
I sat down with someone more knowledgeable than I about diet and diabetes today and she helped me get a plan together for dealing with carbs. It's not extremely low-carb, fairly balanced, but she put together a good guideline that should help me track them, which will help my blood sugar and probably help me lose weight, too, so I'm going to put that in action. That, along with the exercise and going to the endocrinologist in a couple of weeks should help on the diabetes front.
I've been pretty busy at work each day this week. After work today I went and got a friend, went on a small grocery run, and then watched 'Ugly Betty', 'H2O: Just Add Water', and some stuff on Paula Deen with YKWIA. Before I left I fixed him dinner and now that I'm home, I've been texting with another friend. But I must admit, I'm fading fast. It's 11 pm already; the day has flown by. I should probably go on to bed. But I wanted to touch base here. I've got some news stories I'd like to blog about; maybe I can do that tomorrow. In the meantime, have a safe and wonderful evening. Good night.

Figures
I don't watch much TV (I don't even have cable). I watch PKJ, the 4400, and of course, Heroes--the latter of which is back in action September 24, yay! If I did have cable I'd probably watch Eureka and Ugly Betty.
Good night.

The full moon is big and gorgeous tonight
During the day I worked at the store for 8 hours, then watched the first two episodes of 'Ugly Betty'. It's a great little show. I particularly identified with Betty when she walked right into the glass doors. America Ferrera does an excellent job. It amazes me how they 'Bettify' her--she's such a pretty girl, and of a decent size, too. Vanessa Williams is great as a conniver, and Mark Indelicato, who plays Betty's nephew Justin (flaming at a tender age) does it superbly. Then it was painting trim and putting up shelves. Ah, my life--I don't think I've had more than four hours of sleep a night for a week and a half.
