I have

Turned off the alarms on my phone for tomorrow; I have the day to myself and plan to sleep in. Beyond that,  I want to get the house straightened up,  as I may have people over Thursday.

Today we had the game.  I started the notes last night but got sleepy with an hour left in the recording,  and finished it this morning,  but it took two hours to finish because there was a lot of description towards the end that I couldn't skip.

My ankle has been giving me problems all day,  so A did a lot to help me with the housework. The game was interesting,  with a lot of investigation,  with murder,  witchcraft,  and heresy afoot. After the game,  I made YKWIA some food and watched an episode of 'Lost Girl'  with him.  Now I'm home,  after finding a parking spot finally,  the worst I've ever encountered in terms of finding a space since I moved here eleven years ago, and dragging in my laundry,  the laptop,  food,  and my tote bag that I'm using as a purse.

So now it's off to bed.  Good night!

I just got up a little while ago

having slept in. Even with the time change I slept 10 or more hours. I must admit that it was nice to sleep in. But while I should be happy I have a whole day to myself, it's sort of daunting in a way. I'm used to letting others fill up my time, and while I sometimes resent it, I actually prefer it to trying to keep busy on my own. I'm not sure when I, who was very much an introvert as a child and young adult, got to the point where I relied on others to entertain me. It's one of the reasons I sleep so much. I find it somewhat maddening to be alone, especially if all is not harmonious in my life, which it isn't at the moment.

Still, There is a lot to do around here. So I suppose I should step away from the computer and start doing stuff. This is me stepping away from the computer. I think I'll go make a list I can cross off as I complete it.

So the quiet night at home didn't quite work out, but I had a good time

I laid down for a nap, was half asleep, when a friend called asking me to bring some food over (they don't have a car, and don't drive). It was only after I called in the order and really woke up that I realised that they could have just had the Chinese restaurant they wanted it from delivered. A never thought about it, and YKWIA did, but was amused that I didn't think to just tell A that. At least I can blame it on being sleepy and tell myself they wanted the pleasure of my company. But I did get a small kung pao tofu that was really good (I'd already had some corn before they called), and YKWIA and I watched several episodes of 'Better Off Ted' and had a great time together. We also checked on a friend who'd had some surgery last week and is thankfully feeling better. It looks like we'll be playing the game Sunday. Now I'm (back) home, texting with Brandon and winding down for the night. Rain or shine, tomorrow I'm going to try to sleep in and not set an alarm. Some people over here in my neighbourhood are setting off early fireworks (I guess they're not sure they'll be able to tomorrow), but it's not too noisy.

I saw some revised hours for the High Street YMCA on Facebook a few minutes ago. Now they're open 7 am-6 pm, and are letting the runners from the Bluegrass 10K (which takes place near them, downtown) use their showers after the race. That's nice.

I hope you have a very safe and happy Independence Day (at least for those of you in the States). Good night.

Nice day to sleep in

It's cloudy and although I haven't gone outside yet, it's supposed to be a good deal cooler than in recent days. I plan to go over to the game master's house and do some stuff for the game, but I'm not on a time table, so I slept in, took a nice shower, made the bed, ate breakfast, and in just a bit I'll head over there. There's a terribly twangy song on about rolling windows down. It's annoying, both in the accent and the lyrics. I don't mind crossovers, but if I wanted something that twangy I'd be listening to a country station. I prefer people to open their mouths when they sing, too. Ah, good, we're to Maroon 5 instead now.

Well, I guess I'd better go. I'll make a stop at the store and get there about 10:30. Hope your weekend is going well.

Starting off my holiday with a little amusement

I slept in today, waking up at 10, and getting ten hours of sleep. It was nice not having to be anywhere. I thought I'd disabled all my alarms, but the Gentle Alarm on my phone went off at 6-something. But I managed to go back to sleep with no problem.

So I got up, showered, and headed over to the laundry room for a Diet Coke, as I didn't have any soda in the house and wanted a bit of caffeine. On the way I made friends with a little tiny dog a lady was walking. On the way back, the dog did that circling thing that they do and then hiked its leg to pee. I said something about how the circling was cute, and the lady said she thought so too, and that she (the dog) always did that. I said, 'she?' and she said yes, and that she knew I was surprised because the doggie hikes its leg. She always does that, too. Meanwhile, I'm staring at the penis between his legs that is rather prominent and erect. I just smiled, shook my head, and went on. But you would think the dog owner would know a bit of basic anatomy. True, maybe I should have corrected her misconception, but I didn't. Oh, well, at least they won't have an unexpected litter of puppies. He looked healthy and well-cared for. Surely a vet will let them know at some point. I didn't catch his name. Hopefully it's not too girlie.

Okay, I've had a small breakfast of pimiento cheese on some everything crackers. Did I mention I've lost 14 lbs since the end of March? Yay! I haven't actually been dieting, but the cleaning helped keep me moving. Now I hope to keep that activity up by going to the Y. In the meantime I'm trying to eat somewhat healthy and in good portions. Time to go review my list of things I want to accomplish today and see about starting. :)

It was so nice to sleep in today

I wound up getting up at nine, and I'm normally already at work by then. I'm dressed and ready to go over to Brandon's and pick them up, but that's in another hour, so I thought I'd pay some bills and do some other stuff online. It's sunny and is in the low 40s for temps, so it's shaping up to be a pretty nice day.

Today, being the first of April, and a Monday, and the day before my birthday, I am going to try to start keeping track of things like eating, exercise, blood sugar, medication, etc., with more zeal and see if I can lose weight. I have finally made it over the cliff of 300, after much dancing up to it, and I want to try to lose 50 lbs in a year. It would be great to eventually lose more, but I'm going to work on that as my goal. I have the tools I need on my phone--I just need to work at keeping track and doing much better with my eating and medicine. So wish me luck.

Okay, time to go pick Brandon and the kids up. Have a great Monday.

I decided that I would sleep in today

But even I didn't expect to wake up at eleven. I had strange, vivid dreams, the type you remember readily after waking. Two involved guns, including some guy at a student center shooting me for no particular reason except he was going on a rampage. One involved some people who were trying to get me to pay double for a taxi they were not able to procure (that actually happened, to a point, one time in real life). Just strange things, and mysteries to be solved, that sort of thing. I apparently tossed and turned because when I did wake up my CPAP was in the floor (fortunately it has a separate humidifier that I don't use in warmer weather as a rule). My hair looked a fright, standing up on one side and falling over a bit like a Kewpie doll.

My day isn't slated to be as busy as normal on a Saturday. I have to go out in search of wine and chili paste to bring tomorrow. Otherwise it's game notes, and if I possibly can, the pool, which opened yesterday at our apartment complex. But I don't want to go in the heat of the day; I'm not sure my sunscreen is still good, so no trusting it and getting burned to a crisp. But maybe around 3 or 4 would be good. I'll probably be good and hot after walking around Richmond Road. Then there's just a bit to do around the house (maintain the bathroom and kitchen, maybe vacuum, and clean up around the computer).

Tomorrow, as far as I know, we'll be playing in the game, unless Brenda has something to do for the holiday weekend. So it'll be busy. So the plan today is to strike a balance between productive and rest. I wish I had thought to do some yoga this morning, but I've eaten now and don't like to do it when I'm full, especially since I had the most perfect pancakes I've ever made, at the perfect temperature (with sugar-free syrup, of course).

Okay, I suppose I should get going, or at least go check the bus schedule. I'm used to getting up much earlier on a Saturday. The first three go like Sunday, but then they start the ever 70 minute thing. I wish Richmond Road's bus went every 35 like some of the others on Saturday. It used to be holidays, such as Monday, would go on a Saturday schedule, but this year they're on a Sunday one, meaning the last bus goes out of the transit centre at 8:20 pm. So if you ride the bus, be sure you don't miss that last bus.

Glorious

It was so nice to sleep in today, as there is no game, so no getting up at 4:45 am to travel for an hour on the bus for what is a 10-15 minute ride by car to the gamemaster's house to clean and prepare for the game, no major Kroger run, no playing for hours and getting home late, then crashing on Monday evening. While the game is immensely fun, Sundays are very long days for me.

Instead, I slept in until after 8:30, had breakfast, and checked out the (albeit disturbing) news and blogged. So the question is, what to do now? I'm thinking about getting ready to go out, walk down to the store for some caffeine, and then working on the house this morning. I have quite a lot of TV to catch up on, and I have an Indiana Jones movie out from Netflix I should return tomorrow.

I'd like to go out and get some presents, but I don't have much left after my bills because they had to take money out of my pay where I'd been overpaid last time (and I pretty much spent that on medicine and groceries). So there's not much money before the holidays. But I'll see what I can do. :)

Okay, I should get going. Have a great day!
