Born, like other comic book characters, out of an otherwise trivial but life-changing animal bite, the Rabid Librarian seeks out strange, useless facts, raves about real and perceived injustices, and seeks to meet her greatest challenge of all--her own life.

I tried to rest
but no luck--the nerves are just too irritated and the pain was in the way. I took some ibuprofen; it was time, but either it hasn't kicked in yet or isn't helping. I watched a bit of 'The New Adventures of Old Christine' and 'How I Met Your Mother' (congrats to Neil Patrick Harris and David Burkta, by the way--they've been quietly engaged for five years and have twins together, but Harris announced his engagement officially on Twitter the other day now that same-sex marriage has passed in New York and they can actually wed). I got a lot done today and I'm going to work on game notes once the pain reliever kicks in and get that out of the way. Right now my arm's just radiating pain down parts of it yet my hand, especially my thumb, and lower arm is experiencing numbness. My thumb also hurts. It sounds insane, but it's doing both. They said it might be worse after the physical therapy this first day, but should be better from now on. Well, they're right. I'm trying to type whilst doing the exercises they showed me to open up the area around the nerve, but my neck really hurts when I do that. I'm considering taking some pain medication I have left over from the last time I had neck issues if this is still going on when I go to sleep, but it's mixed with acetaminophen, which won't help inflammation-wise. Phooey. Even my left side is showing a bit of numbness. I took two of the bags of recyclables out earlier and that hurt, and those were light bags. :( I know I sound like a weenie. I'm very good with chronic pain, but acute pain, not so much. On a scale of 1-10, I rated it at 3 this morning. Now it's something like 7. Argh. I hope this gets better soon.
