There is nothing quite like

Coming home,  taking one's shoes off,  putting some orange ginger lotion on them,  and then lying down with a fan on one's feet. It's especially good if you stand all day,  but relaxing even with a desk job.

I have not been this tired in awhile.  We had a very busy day and I was in scheduling.  We were short-handed,  and I wound up in checkout for about six hours.  I'm usually doing another job there for four hours at a time,  and only covering the window when someone is at lunch.

So now I'm home,  and I've taken care of some business,  and now I'm going to rest.  I may go to the library in awhile,  as I have a book that has arrived that I had on hold. If so,  I'll take the laptop and blog some more.  We'll see.  I've had a headache most of the day and I want to see if it will ease up before I go anywhere. So I am going to lie down in a darkened room and rest for a bit, for now,  anyway.  If I don't write more tonight,  I hope you have a good night.

Too tired

I just got home a bit ago,  after midnight. I have a headache,  I am tired and achy,  my feet are swollen,  and I am going to take some ibuprofen,  put my feet up,  and go on to bed. I will blog properly tomorrow.  Good night.

I have a horrible headache

but I've taken some ibuprofen, so hopefully it will recede soon. Despite that, it's been a pretty decent day. It was in the 60s and sunny, I had on a nice top and got several compliments--including from YKWIA, which means a great deal, and I got a permanent crown and my partials adjusted, so I'm more likely to wear them. Then I helped a friend with a project, wished another one a happy birthday, and now I'm home and although it's not even 9:30, I'm seriously considering calling it a night. It was a very busy weekend, you see, so I'm ready to catch up on some sleep.

Saturday YKWIA and I watched a really fun movie called The World's End. Here's the trailer:

Sunday I helped wash three dogs, cleaned the house in preparation for the Cthulhu game, played a lovely game of investigating in an Aegyptian murder mystery with strange idols, tombs, etc., and then bounced up and down in the last few seconds of the University of Kentucky vs. University of Michigan game, which Kentucky won, so A is really happy about them going to the Final Four.

Today after the dentist I watched the gaming convention episodes of 'The Guild' with YKWIA and then helped him with a oouple of things.

Okay, I think I'm going to go into the other room, put my feet up, and see if I can go on to bed. Have a good night.

I feel so much better than I did an hour and a half ago

I was overheated and red in the face from driving around town during rush over for an hour and a half, going to the pharmacy (twice, actually) for three people. When I delivered the medicine YKWIA had me drink some ice water. I'd had a splitting sinus headache for hours that was only getting worse (rain is coming in tonight). My blood sugar was over 200, so I decided to wait to eat until it had gone down. I had started my period (good thing I went to the gynaecologist yesterday, I guess) and all I had was a little pad they had at work to give out in emergencies. I'm a big girl, and I bleed fairly heavily when I start, so that wasn't cutting it. I put down a reusable Kroger bag just to make sure I wouldn't bleed on my car's beige upholstery. I felt tired and well, just bad, in pain from the headache and the cramping. My shoulders still ache due being tense while driving, although they've relaxed a good deal since then.

So I came home, changed to my regular pads, changed into some shorts, took the bra off, got comfy in front of fan, and went to sleep for an hour. I tried listening to soothing music, but it made my headache worse. The headache's still there, but much less than it was. I actually managed to relax a bit and let the tension melt away. And I'm so much cooler, thank goodness. My blood sugar before I ate was 142, much better. I've eaten a little and now I feel ready for the evening.

I was online earlier today looking for advice on the prep for a colonoscopy, and found Dave Barry's column on the subject, which I found hilarious, so I'm going to link to it here:

Dave Barry: A journey into my colon -- and yours

I need to make a list for the store and go get a few things. It's amazing how dark it is already outside. It's not even 8 pm. I guess it really is autumn now. We're supposed to have daytime temperatures in the low 70s this weekend to remind us of that, although today was the mid-80s. But that rain should make a real difference, if my headache is any judge of pressure changes.

Okay, off to the store. At least I don't have to do game notes tonight--I got those finished last week, something I only remembered today. :)

Wow

Today I was energised, alert, and had a really pleasant day. For one thing, my blood sugar was near-normal all day. In fact, before lunch, it was 101. Even two hours after lunch, it was 121. That's very good. I'm still a little high in the mornings, but I suddenly realised this morning when updating my medication list that I'm supposed to take two metformin a day, and so I'm supposed to take an evening dose as well. That should help with the morning highs. But even so, it wasn't nearly as high as usual. And although I know part of it is water weight, I've lost 12 lbs since Thursday. Really. I was really productive today, and so much clearer mentally. When I got home, the first thing I did was change into my swimsuit and go to the pool, where I did exercises (I didn't really attempt to swim, exactly, nor did I float about, as there was a young girl splashing all over the place). But I did some good exercises and got my joints moving. That's what counts.

Tonight I have a quiet evening at home. I have a few things to do around the house. One of my co-workers really wants me to watch 'Downton Abbey', as she has finished season 3 and she's afraid she'll let something slip since I'm only five episodes into season 1. :) I think tonight I will watch some of that, and also start 'The Big Bang Theory' from the beginning. I might work on the game notes a bit, too, and get them squared away.

I do have a headache (I have almost all day), but I think that's because of the rain that's due tomorrow, and maybe because my blood sugar is lower than it has been, too. I'm resisting taking ibuprofen because Thursday is our blood drive at work and I don't want to have to have them mark it for having had aspirin/NSAIDs exposure. I do think I'll listen to some music for just a bit and rest my eyes, hopefully without actually going to sleep. I'll set several alarms. :)

My headache's back

But maybe that's from too much caffeine. I don't know. It's not a migraine, although I'm a little light-sensitive. I don't feel super wide awake. I've been drinking water for awhile today, but had quite a bit of soda earlier.

I have been on the phone in some capacity about 70% of my day. Two people have come to my home, one being Brandon with the soda. The rest of my time has been spent on game notes or on the computer in some fashion. I've watched several clips from 'The Big Bang Theory', for example. I'm almost halfway finished with the notes. Also, I got my product key for the free Windows Media Center to accompany Windows 8 and installed that. I also did a very thorough baby-wipe bath, including my poor 'good' foot, which has been carrying so much of my weight. I'm not sure it will ever be soft and happy again. I'm actually going to have to invest in a pumice stone. I think I'll wait to wash my hair till tomorrow, though.

It's rainy and icky outside, with a possibility of some small amount of snow overnight. Fortunately both the days I have to go out this week are supposed to be in the 50s and sunny. I'm not sure exactly what I'll do when it gets icy and snowy--still plug my way on my hands and knees up those stairs, I guess.

Come to think of it, I'm kind of aching. Maybe the headache is weather-related. I've had it since before the cold front came through. Hope I'm not getting anything; I have been sniffling all day, blowing my nose, and thought it was my allergies, but I have been around someone who had a bad cold not too long ago.

Plus, I'm tired. I think I'm going to go back into the bedroom and listen to some soft music. Maybe that will help my headache. If I don't post anymore tonight, I hope you have a good night.
