This never gets old

(I was testing my sound, because my laptop didn't go back to the built-in speakers after using my headphones the other day (not sure why it doesn't do it--I just plugged in the external speakers and it works fine--will followup later). Anyway, this played in my library (I actually bought the song from Amazon because I liked it--and really related, having been bullied in school.))

I have a horrible headache

but I've taken some ibuprofen, so hopefully it will recede soon. Despite that, it's been a pretty decent day. It was in the 60s and sunny, I had on a nice top and got several compliments--including from YKWIA, which means a great deal, and I got a permanent crown and my partials adjusted, so I'm more likely to wear them. Then I helped a friend with a project, wished another one a happy birthday, and now I'm home and although it's not even 9:30, I'm seriously considering calling it a night. It was a very busy weekend, you see, so I'm ready to catch up on some sleep.

Saturday YKWIA and I watched a really fun movie called The World's End. Here's the trailer:



Sunday I helped wash three dogs, cleaned the house in preparation for the Cthulhu game, played a lovely game of investigating in an Aegyptian murder mystery with strange idols, tombs, etc., and then bounced up and down in the last few seconds of the University of Kentucky vs. University of Michigan game, which Kentucky won, so A is really happy about them going to the Final Four.

Today after the dentist I watched the gaming convention episodes of 'The Guild' with YKWIA and then helped him with a oouple of things.

Okay, I think I'm going to go into the other room, put my feet up, and see if I can go on to bed. Have a good night.

Now that I've finally remembered my wireless router password

so I could download 'Plants vs. Zombies' to my phone via wi-fi, I'm listening to:

I'd like to dedicate this song to the four girls who jumped me as I was walking home from junior high, hit me, tore my coat, broke my glasses, and generally caused me all sorts of angst. Oh, and let's not forget the gum in the hair, and my personal favourite, fish guts in my locker in high school.



The folks at The Guild have done it again. I actually downloaded this song from Amazon (what's the point of having a gift card balance if you don't use it? Thanks, Momma!) It is so going on my phone. :) Thanks to YKWIA for sharing it with me...he knew I'd relate.

The Guild is at it again, and they're having a lot of fun

I'd heard about this on Twitter, but had not seen it until YKWIA showed us today at the game. Music and direction by Jed Whedon (Joss' brother), lyrics by Felicia Day, and a host of great talent. One of the dancers was a groupie and lyricist for Dr Horrible, too. And I must say, Felicia Day is hot in that outfit.... :)

I'm probably the only one on the Internet who had not seen this, but just in case

you haven't, I thought I'd share, because it's really, really great...

Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog:



It was directed by Joss Whedon (of 'Buffy: the Vampire Slayer' fame). Neil Patrick Harris (best known from 'Doogie Howser, MD') plays evil genius, monologuer, and future overlord Dr Horrible. Felicia Day (who played one of the potential Slayers on the last season of Buffy and stars in and produces The Guild) plays Dr Horrible's crush Penny. Nathan Fillion plays Captain Hammer, Dr Horrible's self-absorbed nemesis. Did I mention it's a musical? Enjoy!

I found out why Felicia Day from 'The Guild' looks so familiar. She was one of the potential Slayers (Vi) in the last season of 'Buffy: the Vampire Slayer'.

Vi
Vi is a Potential Slayer who arrives in Sunnydale in the seventh season, and is played by Felicia Day. Vi was trained by her Watcher prior to her arrival in Sunnydale, but her experience with the supernatural amounts to seeing a blurry photograph of a vampire. Introduced in the episode, "Showtime", the timid Vi initially seems unfit for her calling. However, she proves to be a courageous fighter during several battles, including the final battle in the Hellmouth. She survives it and, though having been wounded herself, helps treat other wounded such as Rona and Robin Wood in the aftermath. She appears in the comic story "The Chain", starring alongside Andrew Wells in a television commercial informing recently activated Slayers about the Watchers' Council.

If you haven't seen 'The Guild', you really should, especially if you have any interest in gaming online or off, because you'll be more likely to get the jokes. It's up to episode 7 and they just keep getting better and better.
