I have had success
I'm trying to recover information from a hard drive from a dead computer and I have managed to link up the hard drive to my computer, copy the pertinent files to CD, and find a Sharpie to label it with (that actually was the hardest part--my purple Sharpie has disappeared). That's not a bad two hours' work. Now I just have another hard drive to check, but I'm leaving that for tomorrow. The only annoyance was that I couldn't get it to work with the DVDs, just the CDs. Oh, well, it turns out I didn't need that much space. But I'll have to find my software to my DVD burner--it seems to have gone away in the great computer reconstruction of 2006.
