Tweety And Sylvester Bring Mel Blanc Back To Life

Looney Tunes are back! A brand-new cartoon short called I Tawt I Taw a Puddy Tat debuts in theaters this weekend. It features beloved comedy duo Tweety Bird and Sylvester The Cat, but the real star of the show is the man who made them famous.

Mel Blanc was the voice of Warner Bros' most enduring cartoon characters for more than 50 years. He died in 1989, but an original recording of Blanc singing "I Tawt I Taw a Puddy Tat" has been remastered for the new short, playing in theaters alongside the film Happy Feet Two.

Mel Blanc really gave the characters he voiced life, and I grew up with his voice.

They're all incredibly well-done. I would never have heard of them without YouTube. Animusic's official site is: http://www.animusic.com/. They have a special on the two DVDs so for $35 you get a third (another of Animusic 2) to give someone, whereas each DVD is $19.99 individually. I'd like to get them if I can scrape up the money. The website includes wallpapers and a link to an interactive screensaver demo.

Home at last

I'm listening to the radio and checking the news and my e-mail. Tomorrow it's back to work at both jobs (today I was off for a dental appointment). Turns out I've fractured a tooth (I had a root canal some time ago and it's become brittle), so I need a crown. I have an appointment next Thursday for that.

I came across this. It's still not on DVD, but if you're a fan of the show Lou Grant, you can download either individual episodes or an entire first season from Amazon.com.
