I didn't watch the 'Big Game' with all its hype, commercials, and half-time show, but I did see this a few days ago, and apparently the folks at Budweiser, given their success last time, decided you can't go wrong with puppies and Clydesdales. And you know what? They're right. Here's their 'Lost Dog' commercial from this year's Super Bowl:

YKWIA showed me this the other day. I liked it very much.

'That's not how it works. That's not how any of this works.'

I feel like the lady in the Beatrice esurance commercial who is incredulous at the non-techie Beatrice sharing things to her wall. YKWIA showed me the commercial, instantly recognising similarities between the two of us. And yes, he would be Beatrice. If he every shared info, even 'offline'. :) That said, he's become quite adept at finding things online and doing various things like watching videos, etc., all stemming from a moment I sat him down and showed him how to play solitaire on the computer. Don't ever undervalue the power of good old solitaire games for getting someone comfortable with the computer. Insidious, yes, but it does work.

I didn't watch the Super Bowl, so I just saw this today

I laughed myself silly. Another one shared by YKWIA. He finds odd things almost every time he gets on the Internet.



If I remember correctly, the clockwork owl was Athena's from The Clash of the Titans.

It's also a nice integration of Passenger's 'Let Her Go', which I like so much I have the album on my phone. :) Budweiser obviously realises that you cannot go wrong with Labrador pups and Clydesdales when it comes to Super Bowl ads. :) Thanks to Jill for showing it to me earlier today.

Doritos alchemy

Sadly, it didn't make the finals of Doritos' 'Crash the Superbowl' ad contest, but it's making up for it in popularity on the Internet.



I want to see the unicorn cry. :) Be sure to go back and pause the ingredients as they scroll down the screen. I love these guys. Alchemy, and a bag of holding. They're my kind of people.

I think if I were dating the man who rushed to take lady's place on the bike so he could pedal, I'd re-think our relationship. :)

I've never played Angry Birds, the popular game for smartphones

but I found this pretty fun. T-Mobile set up a life-size version of the game. Here's the video's description:

A Date with Trevor is a commercial in Canada. There's also A Date with Brad and A Date with Ryan. I applaud these men for being able to do a maxi pad gig that is, well, lame and totally unnatural, and still remember their lines and not crack a smile.

I would so go running for the hills if this were my first date, although Trevor is certainly beautiful, if a little OCD about moisture and cleanliness.

The reason I still cross my sevens nearly fifteen years after German class

Have you seen the Marshalls 'Bjorn' ad? I can't find a copy of it online just now but it goes something like this. They show a designer. This is Bjorn. Bjorn is European. This means he has cool European hair and clothes. It also means that he makes those cool 'ones' that look like 'sevens'. They show him writing the aforementioned '100' that to an American would look like '700'. Of course, this means Bjorn orders seven times more shirts than he meant to, and we can sell them to you at reduced prices. [Not an exact transcript; I'm pulling from my imperfect memory, but you do get the gist, hopefully.] I also cross my Z's. That's from physics, not German. :)

Funny how you pick these things up. Anyway, I thought it was a hilarious commercial, and it somehow made all my semesters of German worthwhile (even the part where the Frau would not let us leave during a fire drill due to a test)...that woman was like a Doberman in terms of discipline, but I remember her now quite fondly, despite my fear of her at the time.

Speaking of financial stuff...
