So I've been sick for several days now, and I'm ready to be well again

It started with a scratchy throat on Thursday afternoon, then went into fairly mild cold symptoms the next day, so I went in to work anyway. But I stayed home and rested Thursday and Friday nights, and didn't do much of anything else those nights. I can't really complain; I haven't had so much as a cold for maybe three or four years now. Today I've mostly been in bed. i got up to take A to the barber and later to the grocery store. I figured that was safe given that I caught the cold from him, so he shouldn't have to worry about it. Because two of the three of us in the game are sick (Brenda has so far escaped this plague), the game in cancelled for tomorrow and I don't have to worry about the game notes, thankfully, until next week. I'm sneezing, coughing, congested, my nose and eyes are running, and I'm tired and achy, especially in the evening. I got home tonight, got something to eat, drank some orange juice I'd gotten at the store, and now I'm in bed listening to Linkin Park's A Thousand Suns, and blogging, but I think I'll have to blow my nose, put on my CPAP masque, and go back to bed for awhile, because I have no energy whatsoever. I hope I'm feeling better tomorrow; and at least by Monday, as it is my first day in scheduling where I'm not just training.

I won't say I won't blog again tonight, but I'm tired and don't feel like finding any interesting links. So, good night.

I'm not feeling particularly well

on this dreary, cool day. Now maybe it's because I didn't have my Claritin today, and so my allergies might be an issue, but as the afternoon has progressed, I've started having a scratchy throat and aching all over, with a headache. No fever as of yet, but I may be coming down with a cold, especially as I was around someone with one recently, and I've been training in an area with shared workstations and contact with children. :(

In fact, my training period is over and I'll actually be subbing as of Monday, as the person I was going to fill in for starts her leave tomorrow. So for four hours a day, twelve hours a week, I'll be doing scheduling and covering checkout as needed, plus keeping the library running and doing my other duties related to the revenue cycle the rest of the time.

Tonight I need to work on the game notes, but for right now I'm eating a coconut fruit bar and drinking some iced water to help with my throat. I'm thinking of taking some ibuprofen and lying down--my sinuses especially are hurting above my eyes. So for now, I think it's naptime. :)

As a Kentuckian

let me just say that I'm sorry that we somehow managed to vote Mitch McConnell in for a sixth term. I certainly didn't do it--I didn't vote straight ticket, but I sure didn't vote for McConnell. I don't understand why we can't seem to 'Ditch Mitch' as one slogan ran a few years ago. Apparently a lot of people thought he should stay in Washington. I just don't get it.

On the other hand, another crazy election season is finally over. What gets me is how much money was wasted on bad and annoying, often completely false, campaign ads throughout the country. Imagine what good we could do with that money. If I were in charge, the first thing to go would be the political action committees and corporate lobbyists. Yep, straight to the circle of hell they belong in, at the risk of offending. That's my two cents' worth, anyway.
