Listening to Ella Fitzgerald

Resting with my legs elevated after PT and taking it easy, as for some reason my leg is super swollen today. I tried the bike today and started bleeding just a bit from my incision, so the surgery coordinator said to take it easy and dial back activity. At PT, Peter (my therapist) agreed, and he massaged that part of the quadriceps muscle that got pulled on Sunday, and it feels better. He also worked some vitamin E oil into the scar from the first surgery. I was surprisingly at 86° flexion given all the swelling. The extension had worsened to 1°, which wasn't surprising. I did have some spotting through my sleeve when I did my flexion test, so I bled just slightly. It was a good session with my therapist and two students following him on Wednesdays.

Afterwards, I dropped off the nerve block pump at the post office and returned some library books as well, thanks to Brenda, and came home, got some water, and elevated that leg on a wedge pillow for a couple of hours to see if it'll help. It did earlier.

It was a slow day

We'd cancelled the game for other reasons, but it's good that we did. The weather's messed with my fibromyalgia, so everything from neck muscles down to the soles of my feet hurt, and I have what I think is a light cold I seem to have caught from a friend, so I've slept so much today and could sleep all night, too, I'm sure. I did about half of my chores, the ones that were most important, and went and got something from Captain D's (and actually got fried fish; we'll find out if my gall bladder will react badly--it's been almost a year since I was brave enough to eat it, but I was craving it). We watched an episode of 'Sister Boniface's Mysteries (an excellent show, a spinoff of 'Father Brown' but with a character that was not in the GK Chesterton stories.) I've listened to the new album by Ed Sheeran, - (Subtract), which came from came from Amazon yesterday. Because of the cold, I couldn't sing along with the car radio. I did test for Covid, but it's negative. My sore throat started Friday night, and it would be just my luck to finally catch it on the day the WHO said it was no longer a pandemic emergency. But no, it seems to be just a normal cold. That's about it. But some days it's good to have a slow day. And our coming week has high clinic numbers, so it's good to get some rest now.

Happy Plants

I did get the herbs planted. Each box has a strawberry on each end. One has sage and oregano (pictured), one has thyme and rosemary, and one has dill and basil.

I've been up since 3:30 this morning, have done four loads of laundry, have worked a full day, had physical therapy, and my ankle is swollen to the size of a grapefruit because I've been on it much of the day, a lot of getting up and down. I am very tired. The danger, of course, is that I will fall asleep rather than work on the house. I'm going to take my contacts out and put my foot up for awhile, but I'm going to try not to fall asleep, maybe listen to peppy music or something. Wish me luck!

I never really got out of bed much yesterday

and didn't blog from the tablet, either. Sorry about that. Today was better. I've sent in some paperwork, have spoken to numerous people on the phone, and got something delivered that I couldn't go out and get that I really needed. A co-worker is bringing over a few things from the store and has offered to do my laundry. I really am amazed just how great people have been, although I did have to order YKWIA not to be comforting because he was going to tell me all the things that could go wrong, because he would find it comforting. Me, not so much. :)

Just a little later...Okay, my laundry is gone and she even took my trash out for me. I think it's time to get something to eat and drink and then head back to bed. Good night, unless I blog later.
