I've actually been binge-watching a show, which is amazing because

I do not, as a rule, binge-watch. I have a limit of about three hours in me at any given time. The show in question is the American version of 'Ghosts', which is based on the British series, but I find it lighter and more delightful. In other words, more fun. It's not that I don't get the humour of the British series, it just seems that the characters are more relatable in this one, which may be a cultural thing, I don't know, but also I can't even begin to understand Robin in the British one (point of fact, he is a Caveman of sorts, so there's that, whereas the American has a Viking). I'm also not quite so fond of Georgian architecture, so I prefer the house in the American version.

The nicest thing about them, though, is that they are tight little stories. Running time is about 20 minutes on streaming.  Yep, that's it. Both are classified as sitcoms, but they aren't the type we had when I was growing up, forced with a laugh track; I really just have fun watching. And this one is easy for me to binge; I feel like I'm progressing without getting bogged down, you know how other people must feel with regular shows. :)

Anyway, I'm really enjoying it. I like it as each character's backstory is being expanded. My friend just put me through a quiz, and of all things, I came out as the Robber-Baron Era Lady of the House Hetty, which surprised me.  He did too, which did not surprise me, so I guess he trained me well.  But my answers were all over the place, so I expected a different outcome.

People here don't think I have a Southern accent. To get someone who 'loves my Southern accent' I have to go to Minnesota. But I agree with the Western evaluation. I also use 'were' and 'wore' and 'war' as if they all are pronounced the same, which I have only heard in Californians. And although I said 'pin' and 'pen' the same in my youth, college taught me otherwise. (In fact, here in Kentucky they often say 'ink pen' to differentiate from 'pin'.) But I do tend to pick up things that are local when I live there. When I lived outside of Shreveport, for example, I said 'Luziana' and 'Nawlens' for Louisiana and New Orleans. And just yesterday I was told I say Tennessee with the accent on the first syllable, which is pretty Southern. And of course, there are the placenames, such as the Little Arkansas River (pronounced to rhyme with Kansas, not Arkansas (Arkansaw)) when I was in Kansas, and here in Kentucky with have Versailles (Versales) and Athens (with a long 'A'). What accent do you come out as?

When we were in the game together, his character was in charge, and we found a book bound in human skin that, if authentic, would cause anyone who read it to turn to dust (I think, definitely it would kill you, but our game master has a better memory than mine and will point out if I'm wrong). Anyway, Bill was most unhappy when it turned out that no one in the group would do what he said and read the book, and he had a small mutiny on his hands. :)

I came out as 91% Introvert - 9% Extrovert, but then on the Myers-Briggs I turn out to be INFP, which is something like 4-5% of the population (introversion, intuition, feeling, perception). But I thought I was getting more balanced as I get older, and apparently that may not be the case, according to this little non-validated test, anyway. Doctor Who: Which companion are you? I came out as Sarah Jane Smith, which is absolutely fine with me. She was the first companion I encountered and I adored her. Elisabeth Sladen was great as the character. She was somewhere in the back of my mind when I changed my name from Lisa (which is short for Elisabeth) to Elisabeth years ago. :)

Everything about Cardiff is a little bit magical. They won't thank you for saying it, of course, but you can't fail to be charmed by a city in which all of the signs are written in two languages, and one of them closely resembles elvish.

Also, if you hang about in Cardiff long enough, Doctor Who will start filming around you. And there's the Doctor Who Experience nearby, and sometimes you see Daleks on the streets.
