300 Mormons march in Utah Gay Pride Parade

SALT LAKE CITY - More than 300 Mormon church members who are not gay drew shouts of approval and tears from spectators while marching in the Utah Gay Pride Parade in downtown Salt Lake City.

The Mormons say they sought to send a message of love to Utah's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community by joining the annual parade Sunday. Their participation marked the first time such a large group of Mormons took part in the parade, organizers said.

And I found an essay of hers to be dead on, in my humble opinion. Of course, I have strong views on a few other religions as well. (See Sarah Silverman, for one example.) There are times I question whether I should be atheist or agnostic, and just believe in science, but then those times pass. Besides, scientists, atheists, and agnostics (and I'm not lumping them together) are sometimes quite silly, too, in their beliefs.)

• Had a hearty breakfast of eggs, cheese, bread, and a banana
  
• Gently rebuffed a couple of soliciting Mormons
  
• Listened to the radio
  
• Made the bed
  
• Taken a candlelit bath with the fountain on in the background
  
• Taken my medicine
  

Not bad for a couple of hours. I still need to do lots of notes today. I should also take out the trash and do the few dishes that are in the sink. Now I'm heading to the grocery for a couple of things and then over to a friend's to help out with a couple of things.

Actually he seems pretty equal-opportunity in the various religious skits, so no one should feel left out.
