This is an extremely well done short film from Australia

When I was an awkward high school student going through my parents' painful divorce, there was a boy in school named Jeff Gregory who called me 'Orez', which is 'Zero' spelled backwards. It was very painful at the time, and it took me awhile to realise he probably had his own issues and was just taking it out on me. I'm sure he's gotten a little more mature and hopefully caring since then. :) This is for him and for all those other people who have bolstered their own sense of worth at the expense of others they deem the bottom of the pecking order--and for those who think their lowly status will never change, and may time bring them love.

Mesmerising

Remember I posted at some point a shelf reorganisation done in stop-motion in someone's house? Well, they took it to another level, doing the same to a whole bookstore, Type, a bookseller in Toronto. It's really beautiful, and when I think of how much work it took, it makes my brain hurt. I think back to the comic store and how it might have come alive. Thanks to Jeannine Gluck for the link.

A very interesting video

I like the music. The stop-motion animation is superb. The miniature paintings are lovely. It is a haunting and disturbing tale of enmeshment.

That's the motto of the West Lahunga Retropolitain Community Church, a fictional religious institution from the Logo network's Rick & Steve: the Happiest Gay Couple in All the World. We watched a couple of episodes tonight. YKWIA had found it on the cable company's On Demand service. It was great. It was hilarious, yet harmful, sort of like Morel Orel. Like it, Rick & Steve is a stop-motion programme. It's made in Toronto. Think multicultural gay Lego (the company actually sued them) people, all in a town that's mostly gay.

It's not for everyone, but here's the one embeddable clip I could find...the 'Sperm Song'.



The show airs Tuesdays at 10 pm on Logo. Unfortunately we don't get this channel per se on our system, but the episodes are run on the On Demand service a short time afterwards. So, check it out if you can.

Very strange

In 1985 a stop-motion movie, The Adventures of Mark Twain, was made. Here is one of the vignettes, which is pretty damn creepy. It is based on a work of Mark Twain's called 'The Damned Human Race'.
