I feel like I'm burning up

I had about three good hours in which I was able to go to the pharmacy to get the medicine that got left out of the bag, go get a friend from work, take him by his place, take him by another friend's house, go get wine for a libation tonight, and go to the grocery for just a few things (for example, I got potatoes last night, but nothing to go on a baked potato). Now I'm home, and I'm pooped. Thoroughly pooped. I've got the windows up and two fans going. It's actually pretty cool outside; it's not air conditioner weather, and things are too bad in here. The heat is all internal to me. I probably have a low-grade fever, plus I'm hot-natured anyway. Later tonight I may watch something, but right now I'm really considering taking a nap. I'll check the news (none of which was good earlier, with a ransomware attack hitting computers in at least 74 countries, including British hospitals).

I do not understand the mindset of trolls and bullies

who would spread vitriol and horribleness just to feel good about their own pathetic lives.

This makes me mad, and sad, and a whole lot of other emotions, wrapped up in a twisted ball of yarn made of sick colours. Thank goodness for people who have good hearts (and a fair amount of technical knowledge), who can create as safe an environment as possible away from this sort of thing:

The day ‘hackers’ told 6 year old autistic children that they should ‘kill yourself’

On April 6th, 2016, two people attempted to hack into the Autcraft server and failed.

What they did succeed in doing, however, was to hijack our IP address, effectively redirecting all the traffic from our server to a server of their own.

The children that signed on to play, some as young as 6 years old, signed on to their server instead of mine. Once there, they were encased in a bedrock box from which they could not leave and were told that they were rejects from society, degenerates and that they should kill themselves.

When I asked these guys why they’d do such a thing, they responded “it’s funny.”

Three generations from now, when our great-grandchildren are sitting barefoot in their shanties and wondering how in the hell America turned from the high-point of civilization to a third-world banana republic, they will shake their fists and mutter one name: George Effin' Bush.

Ironically, it won't be for any of the things that liberals have been harping on the Bush Administration, either during or after his term in office. Sure, misguided tax cuts that destroyed the surplus, and lax regulations that doomed the economy, and two amazingly awful wars in deserts half a world away are all terrible, empire-sapping events. But they pale in comparison to what it appears the Republican Party did to get President Bush re-elected in 2004.

Okay, I'm not familiar with the news source, so I'm not saying I'm swallowing this hook, line, and sinker. But like a lot a liberals I've thought something screwy went on. Apparently there are a couple of books alleging IT companies with Rupublican ties really did change the course of history in 2004. Go read for yourself and see what you think.

At the very least, it gives food to thought for the vulnerabilities in the system, both in terms of people and technology.
