Crazy, in so many ways, and so sad

Mother slain, baby abducted: kidnapper had suffered miscarriage: Verna McClain, who has been accused of killing a young mother and stealing her baby, is said to have been trying to replace the one she lost

McClain had told her fiancé she had given birth to their child. Instead, McClain had miscarried, said Capt. Bruce Zenor of the Montgomery County sheriff's office.

Her fiancé, who was not identified Wednesday, is being interviewed by authorities.

Sheriff Tommy Gage said 28-year-old Kala Golden had placed Keegan into her pickup truck Tuesday afternoon after leaving Northwoods Pediatric Center in Spring, about 20 miles north of Houston. The suspected shooter was parked next to her, Gage said.

The woman repeatedly shot Golden, then snatched the child from her truck and drove away, according to witness accounts. The dying woman leaned into the vehicle and tried to take the boy back, screaming, "My baby!" but her attacker sped off.

Even dying, she tried to save her three-day-old child. It's so sad that this little boy will never know his mother, because of a random, crazy act. McClain has stated that she was looking for any baby, rather than targeting a particular mother and child. I'm so glad the baby is okay, though.

Woman starts fight over chicken nuggets (video included)

In Toledo, Ohio a woman got very irate when she went to a drive-through window and ordered chicken nuggets only to be told they were still serving breakfast. She started screaming and hitting the clerk, coming out of her car and nearly into the store through the window. Someone had the great idea to shut the window, and she fought them tooth and nail but finally the window shut and she tried to smash it with her hand, then her elbow, then she got in her car and picked up something she used to smash a great big hole in the glass (it wasn't like automobile glass, either...it was a gaping big hole the size of a large head. She's been arrested and charged with vandalism. In my opinion, they need to charge her with assault and battery, and maybe do a drug check and psych evaluation at the same time, because that was a lot of crazy in that video.

It's people like this that make me sometimes feel uneasy about working in retail.

Queens Man Is Arrested in Killing of Therapist

39-year-old David M. Tarloff, whose fingerprints were found on items at the scene and who talked of grievances with the psychiatrist who came to the aid of Kathryn Faughey, the cognitive-behavioural therapist who was killed Tuesday night in her Manhattan office. Nothing so far indicates any grievance with Faughey--she may just have been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

According to his statement, he planned to rob Dr. Kent D. Shinbach, Faughey's officemate. He supposedly blamed Dr Shinbach for having him committed in 1991. Shinbach came to the aid of Faughey and was injured and hospitalised.

I'm assuming the fuzzy slippers and diapers found at the scene belong to Tarloff's ailing mother, who is ailing and recently went to live in a nursing home.

Weird.

Family beaten as YouTube party descends into chaos

After details of a 16th birthday were posted on YouTube, more than 100 teenagers who had not been invited demanded entry, stole whisky and champagne, broke windows and fought amongst themselves. The son at the house was airlifted for medical care for spinal injuries and discharged the next day. His father's nose was broken and he was beaten when he tried to send them home. Six teens have been arrested.

Crazy.
