Sad--I guess he felt it was better for them to go out together

Elderly couple die in apparent murder-suicide: 81-year-old man fatally shoots wife, cat in Florida Keys; he's also found dead
A motive was not immediately known. His wife was 77 and wheelchair-bound. Perhaps he was wrestling with his own mortality, even had a devastating diagnosis, and did not want to leave the wife and cat behind to not be cared for. I can see a kind of crazy logic there. But it's still sad.
